NEW, ECONOMICAL Q14 and Q20 CAPACITIVE SENSORS FEATURE UNIQUE PACKAGING.

TURCK has announced new Q14 and Q20 Q-Pak™ Sensors - economical capacitive sensors featuring a compact rectangular housing that fits and functions where standard barrel sensors will not. Q14 and Q20 sensors, capable of "seeing through" lower dielectric materials to detect higher dielectric materials, are ideal for applications such as level detection, package inspection, carton contents detection, wire break detection, parts rejection, stack level control, and packaging.

Q14 and Q20 sensors are housed in packages up to 10 times narrower than a standard 30 mm diameter barrel sensor, and achieve equal or double the sensing range, depending on model. The new sensors measure 52.0 mm or 68.0 mm (2.1" or 2.7") high, by 30.0 mm or 40.0 mm (1.2" or 1.6") wide, by 14 mm or 20 mm (0.55" or 0.79") deep, depending on model, and achieve a 10 mm or 20 mm (0.4" or 0.8") sensing range. The new Q-Pak sensors provide outstanding performance even when fully embedded in steel. The long sensing range allows the devices to be mounted farther from the sensing target to minimize sensor damage and replacement costs.

These sensors feature a sensitivity adjustment allowing the user to reliably detect various target materials. They also feature a compensation electrode that minimizes false outputs due to contamination on the sensor face. The compensation circuitry ignores splashing water and dust buildup, which are common in capacitive sensor applications.

Green and yellow LEDs on the Ql4 and Q20 sensors indicate "POWER ON" and "OUTPUT ENERGIZED" to keep users constantly informed of operating status. Both of these 3-wire DC, 10-65 VDC sensors feature integral circuitry that protects against short-circuit, overload, wire-break and reverse polarity. These devices are available with complementary NPN (sinking) or PNP (sourcing) outputs.

Designed for use in industrial environments, Ql4 and Q20 sensors feature a durable PBT plastic housing and chrome-plated brass connector. The sensors operate in temperatures from -250 to +700o C (-130 to +1580o F) at 10% temperature drift, and are rated NEMA 1, 3, 4, 6, 13 and IEC IP67. Both models are completely flush mountable, and available with a potted-in 2 m (6.5') PVC jacketed cable, or a choice of picofast or eurofast quick-disconnect connector.

TURCK capacitive sensors reliably detect all metallic and non-metallic materials, including metal, water, wood, glass, cardboard, plastic, concrete block, glue, thin wire, silicon wafers, and numerous other materials.
