NEW PROGRAMMABLE PRESSURE SENSOR OFFERS DUAL SET POINT AND DIGITAL READOUT.

Minneapolis, MN - August 11, 2000 - TURCK Inc. has announced a new pressure sensor with digital readout, a programmable, dual set point device with adjustable hysteresis. Capable of measuring in either bar or psi units, the new sensor is ideal for pressure analysis in many industries, including automotive, welding, hydraulic power units, beverage/brewery, extrusion, stamping, punch press, plastics, hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, clamping, pulp/paper, and semiconductor.

The self-contained unit operates on the piezo-resistive principle and offers a switch point response time of <70 ms-up to three times faster than competitive products. This device can monitor pressures up to 5800 psi. The sensor features a 4-digit, 7-segment digital display that provides continuous pressure data and facilitates set up via programming menu. A separate bar graph exhibits a comparison of set point conditions to overall sensor range.

The device operates on 10-30 Vdc and has two-transistor PNP (sourcing) outputs. Integral circuitry protects the unit from short-circuit damage. A ceramic pickup element isolates the unit from harmful media, allowing it to operate in harsh environments. Optional adapters, including G1/8, G1/4, G1/2 and 1/2" NPT sizes, offer easy installation.
