NEW INTRINSICALLY SAFE POTENTIOMETER AMPLIFIER TRANSMITS SIGNALS FROM HAZARDOUS AREAS.
TURCK has announced the multimodul MK36-11ExO potentiometer amplifier. The new device isolates and transmits a 3- or 5- wire potentiometer signal from hazardous and potentially explosive areas and environments. The MK36 accepts potentiometers in the 800 to 20,000 ohms range, which makes it ideal for numerous industrial control and measurement applications, including speed control, directional control (such as steering mechanisms) and slide wire type measurements.
The new device is available in two models depending on the function desired. The LI model converts the potentiometer signal from resistance to a 0-20 milliamp signal, the LU model from resistance to 0- 10 volts.
The MK36 provides greater functionality versus competitive devices, and a low list price of only $290.00. Product features includel 18mm width, DIN-rail mounting, and removable wiring terminals for quick and easy replacement without rewiring. It also features 3- or 5- wire potentiometer compatibility and an LED for "Power on" indication. The MK36 is FM and CENELEC approved for Class 1, Division 1, Group A applications and environments.
